Matt Wright

International 360 degree Photographer

WHEN: Saturday, September 17 (Festival Day)
TIME: 11 am to 3 pm
WHERE: Fuller Lodge, across Central Ave. from Ashley Pond
Matt Wright is a dynamic young creative with over 12 years experience as a commercial photographer. Specializing in the field of 360 imaging he splits his time between artistic commissions, personal projects , commercial shoots and his curatorial duties for the international art project ‘Ghosts in Armour’.
Matt captured 360 degree images of Fuller Lodge while he was visiting last summer. He will be returning on a grant by an Arts organization in Wales with which one of his requirements for is to install 6 "photospheres" (see image, right/below) in the original locations where the imagery was captured and document people's reactions to them.
These Photospheres are created by printing the 360° photographs onto gores of fabric which are then stitched together as a balloon, inflated with air or in some cases helium and either suspended or floated in the space. The net effect of these photospheres which can be roughly from 1-2 meters in diameter, is to create the illusion of a floating reflective or transmissive sphere (think mirror or crystal ball) with the exception that the original was taken without any people present and the photosphere is viewed with people present such that they appear to be removed from the scene.
